Interviewing Suppliers

After you’ve identified a few potential suppliers on, it’s time to narrow your choices down. You can interview the candidates one-by-one and then make your selection. For communication, you can use e-mail, TradeManager chat, or Skype/telephone.

Ask plenty of questions. Get a feel for the companies. Here are some basic things to consider:

• Do they seem honest and trustworthy?
• Are they too aggressive?
• Are they professional?
• Are they responsive to your questions?
• How’s their English?
• What’s their business track record?
• What’s their client list?
• What are their prices?
• What are their production capabilities?
• What are their quality standards?
• What are their lead times?
• Do they have minimum order requirements?
