Before placing a large order with an supplier, you’ll probably want to see some samples to gauge his quality level.

Samples can be expensive to ship, especially if you use international air shipping. So many suppliers won’t agree to provide samples – unless you pay for the shipping. But if your order is big enough, the expense is probably worth paying for.

If you’re manufacturing customized products, you might want to inspect samples at various stages of the production cycle to gauge your supplier’s progress. Again, this can be expensive. But it’s better to discover mistakes early – than wait until everything’s made.
